The main role of cable branch box, in fact, contains two points, one is to transfer the cable, the other is to tap the cable.

(1) Cable tapping function: When a distribution line distance is relatively long, if you choose a lot of small area cable for power supply, it will waste a lot of cable, so in the outlet to the power load, we usually choose the main cable outlet, and then in close to the load, the use of cable branch box branch trunk cable, trunk cable into many small area cable, Access load by small area cable.

(2) Cable switching function: when the electric distribution distance is relatively long, due to the limitation of the length of the cable itself, it cannot meet the requirements of the long distance, it must be connected with the cable connector, or the cable switching box for connection. Normally, when the electric distribution distance does not exceed 3000m, the cable intermediate connector is used. But in the distance of more than 3000m cable, if the use of a lot of intermediate connectors for connection, it will increase security risks, so in order to ensure the safety of power supply, we usually use cable branch box to transfer.

(3) The cable branch box realizes the convenient docking of different sections of cables, gives up the complicated process of cable middle joint, improves the cable connection environment, is conducive to ensuring the quality of docking, and facilitates the routine inspection and maintenance of subsequent operation.

Classification of cable adapter boxes

1, ordinary distribution box

There is no switching equipment in the ordinary tapping box, the incoming line and the outgoing line are connected together electrically, the potential is the same, suitable for tapping or branch wiring. It is customary to add the number of incoming and outgoing lines to the number of branches. For example, a three-branch cable adapter box, which has three equipotential connections on each phase, can be used as one in two out or two in one out. The cable adapter box contains U, V, W three-phase, three-phase circuit structure is the same, arranged together.

2. Advanced distribution box

The advanced tapping box contains switching equipment, which can not only play the role of tapping and branching of the ordinary tapping box, but also can play the role of the power supply circuit control, conversion and change the operation mode. The switch break roughly separates the cable loop into the incoming side and the outgoing side, and the potential on both sides can be different. The switchgear itself has a large volume, so the size of the advanced adapter box is relatively large, the height is generally 1.4 ~ 1.8m, the depth is about 0.9 ~ 1.0m, and the length is determined according to the number of switchgear contained, mostly between 1.0m and 2.4m. The shape of the box is similar to that of the outdoor box transformer. There are a number of movable doors on the box shell. Some doors are for the operation of the switching equipment, and some doors are for the installation, construction or maintenance of the cable connection devices.
